Caden has always loved running around with no clothes on, but for most of our time in France, it was too cold to be without some outer garments. Now that we are living in West Africa, he has very cooperative weather which is providing him with ample opportunity to run around in the buff. The diaper is there by necessity of course, but he often tries to pull that off too!
This is Caden with a bucket. Since most of his really cool toys are still on our container, he has had to improvise quite a bit. This bucket and other everyday items have provided him with hours of entertainment!
We can't look at this picture without softly singing to ourselves, "Climb every mountain, ford every stream..." Cade has fallen in love with climbing since we've been here, much to his daddy's delight, but this has also caused us to have to watch him extra close...
You'll rarely meet a little boy who doesn't think that high-fiving is cool, and Caden is no exception. All you have to do is put your hand up close to him and he will start slapping away!

We want everyone to know that Caden is doing great. For awhile he wasn't sleeping well, but that was just due to the major life change, and he is past that now. He is eating better now than he was before we left France, and he loves having so many little kids to play with on the team here. Caden is healthy, happy, and loving this new adventure!

I'm glad you guys are doing so well and that Caden is adapting so well, too. How about mom and dad? I guess if Caden is happy then, they are happy. May God greant his richest blessings to the three of you and open the hearts of the people in Togo as you teach them!
What a blessing to see the smile on Caden's face. I know that its truely a reflection of the joy God has set before your family. I praise God that I get to bear witness to His calling on your lives. We love, miss you and pray for you often. May God's peace be in your hearts.
In our family we use the phrase "I'f Mama ain't happy, nobody's happy." But in reality, Tammie is right. If the child is happy we tend to be as well. We pray everything is continuing to go well.
Please share with us how the mission work is going!!! We would love to hear!!!!
allison, please keep in mind that we have only been here about 2 weeks and it is a long process adjusting to life here before being able to dive into the mission work. however, if you want to read more about those kind of experiences, you can check out our africa blog at http://emersonstogo.blogspot.com/ we mostly use this blog as an on-line diary of caden and our family...that everyone else enjoys reading. ;) thanks for checking in with us.
it continues to kill me how these two step for step are growing up together... and love so many of the same things. Nathan couldn't be happier than when he's nekkid, loves his swing time, and is so into giving high fives! God bless you guys!
What a good looking kid! Way to be mom and dad. Thanks for the pictures!
