Active Baby

Yesterday I was able to feel the baby moving with my hand on my belly. Later that evening, Brett was able to feel a tiny kick as well. So exciting! It is very different this time around knowing the baby is a boy. Some of you may not know that we did not find out if Caden was a boy or girl until his birth. During the pregnancy, that was a little difficult (clothing, room decor, etc), but when he was born my attitude about it all completely changed. I would have waited again, but being in Africa and not having access to all the baby stores we decided it was best to find out. I found myself feeling different about this baby last night as I said to Brett, "He usually kicks twice in the same place" as if he's already a little person with us and I'm learning his habits. I'm sure some of it is that this is my 2nd pregnancy, but I'm enjoying getting to know this little guy even before I meet him face to face.

I LOVED knowing and calling Gideon by name before he was born. I felt like I knew who he was. We'd play games, I'd rub his back... I'd get onto him for kicking my bladder...

It just made him seem so much a part of our family already.

I'm so excited for you guys.

A Boy! Fun! Caden will sure have fun with a brother! Glad you are feeling well. I too have enjoyed knowing what we were having before their arrival. Like Daisha, I would call them by name before they were born. It made it seem more like they were already there with us. I think now though if we have any more I might have to have a surprise. Especially since we already have both a boy and two girls. I think it would be fun at the same time for the anticipation to continue to rise throughout the pregnancy.

Hey guys! Glad you are getting to know the little guy already. It is so neat how they reveal themselves to us bit by bit. I felt the same way with both my kiddos that I knew them even before they were even born. Enjoy this special time! Love you! Amy
