I am never "late". I am either early or right on time...31 day cycle. As of day 33, Brett still wanted to wait another day or two. Wednesday, March 9th at about 5:30 in the morning, we ventured into the bathroom to take THE TEST. As many of you know, peeing in the stick in just the right spot can be a little tricky...especially if it's your first attempt. The instructions tell you that after you've done that, put the cap on and lay the stick on a flat surface for up to 5 minutes. Well, we didn't even have time to get the cap on and we already had our two pink lines. Brett still wanted to "make sure" so we took another test that night after church...same story, 2 pink lines before the cap was one. We had plan to leave for Colorado (Spring Break) that Saturday, via Nashville and his family. We realized we had an opportunity to tell our families in person, but if we waited we didn't know when we would see Brett's family next. So, that night (Wednesday) we told my parents and then on Friday, told Brett's. Everyone was excited and surprised....as were we. When people ask us if this was planned, I typically respond, "Well, yes and no." We knew we had a window of about 3 months that IF we got pregnant, we could be sure the baby would be born in the States before leaving for language school (Lord willing) after the first of the year. We decided we wouldn't worry about being careful during those three months and just see what happened. Well, the first month the Lord blessed us with a gift. The gift of life that only He can give.
